Man pleads not guilty to sending hate mail and death threat to 5Pillars

5Pillars.

A 30-year-old man has been pleaded not guilty in connection with allegedly sending malicious online communications to 5Pillars and an MP between January and May this year.

Nick Daly, of Oxted, was arrested in May and subsequently charged with nine counts of sending a letter, communication or article conveying an indecent or offensive message, and one count of sending a communication threatening death or serious harm.

Following a search of an address linked to Daly, he was further charged with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession of cannabis.

Earlier today at Southwark Crown Court, the defendant entered a not guilty plea to all six counts of sending a letter, communication or article conveying an indecent or offensive message. The case is now proceeding to trial on November 2 at Southwark Crown Court. The defendant has been remanded in custody until the next hearing.

As court proceedings are ongoing, 5Pillars will not be commenting further on the matter at this stage.
