Israeli military violations against Syria intensified on Friday, with warplanes flying over Quneitra and Daraa provinces and ground forces advancing deeper into Syrian territory, fuelling widespread alarm over the shadowy “Greater Israel” agenda.

Syrian state media Alikhbariah reported that Israeli military vehicles advanced into Eastern Samadaniyah village in the Quneitra countryside, raiding a residential home.

No immediate information was available on casualties. The operation at site south of Damascus is the deepest into Syrian territory Israeli forces have ventured since the ousting of former dictator Bashar al-Assad last year.

The incursions mark a continuation of Israel’s repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty, which have included airstrikes and ground operations in the south of the country.

Syria’s foreign ministry condemned Tuesday’s strike as a violation of international law and a breach of its sovereignty.

After more strikes on Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out an airborne landing at a former military site in the area, international and Syrian state media report. Reports differ on what forces did and how long they stayed for.

Israel’s military told the BBC it did not comment on foreign reports. Defence Minister Israel Katz posted on X on Thursday that “forces are operating in all combat zones day and night for the security of Israel”.

Following the fall of the al-Assad regime last December, Israel has launched hundreds of strikes targeting military sites and assets across Syria, including fighter jets, missile systems and air defence installations, according to reports.

Israel also expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarised buffer zone, a move that violated a 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria.

Syria’s new leadership, headed by Ahmad Al-Sharaa, has condemned Israel’s action but done little else to repel the brazen aggression.

Israeli backed Druze armed groups have been battled against by Syrian forces but Israel has not been targeted despite pushing deeper into Syria than ever before and occupying new areas south of Damascus.

Greater Israel warnings

Fear is growing that Israel’s leadership may be attempting to establish a long held Zionist goal of a “Greater Israel.”

Greater Israel refers to a Zionist plot to capture more Arab Islamic lands and establish a super Jewish supremacist state which includes not only all of historic Palestine but Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and parts of Egypt and even Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Other than Palestine and Syria, another Arab country currently being attacked by Israel is Yemen. Yemen, unlike Syria, has opted to fight back despite similar challenges the war-torn country faces to Syria.

The leader of Yemen’s ruling Houthi AnsarAllah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi warned in a speech on Thursday: “The Zionist enemy is moving with all practical steps to achieve the goal of demolishing Al-Aqsa, and its location is a fundamental and strategic part of their zionist plan.

“What the Palestinian Authority is doing under the title of security coordination with the Israel enemy is the model that the  enemy wants in the entire Arab world.

“The paper currency of the Israeli enemy that was printed forty-five years ago bears a map that includes all of Palestine, all of Jordan, all of Lebanon, two-thirds of Syria, and also a large area of Egypt from east of Egypt to the Nile, as well as western Iraq, and the north of the Arabian Peninsula to Medina.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for a Greater Israel in a recent interview with Israeli media.

Netanyahu told Israeli news channel i24 on Tuesday that he feels “very attached” to the vision of a Greater Israel.

He said he considers himself “on a historic and spiritual mission” which “generations of Jews that dreamt of coming here and generations of Jews who will come after us.”

Syria’s President Al-Sharaa recently announced that Damascus will not join the Abraham Accords, ending long running speculation that Syria may normalise relations with Tel Aviv.

However, Damascus has remained determined not to be dragged into a major new conflict with Israel despite near daily attacks by Israeli forces.

Critics of the new Syrian leadership have warned that if Syria refuses to defend itself that Israel will continue its aggression and may eventually launch a bid to seize more land or capture Damascus itself.
