With just days left until the result of the hotly contested fight for New York mayor is released, Muslim New Yorkers have mobilised in large numbers to help secure candidate Zohran Mamdani a historic win as the first Muslim mayor in the city’s history.
However, Islamophobic forces are working hard to scupper their hopes as Mamdani’s criticisms of Israel, Muslim heritage, and left-wing policies sends waves of fear throughout the US establishment.
