Jahangir Mohammed from the Ayaan institute says that Pakistan must prepare to respond to an increased challenge from an emboldened India which is increasingly modelling its actions on Israel.
Without providing any evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attacks, India has attacked mainly civilian targets in Pakistan, including mosques.
Both Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, whom India have claimed to target, have been neutralised for some time by the Pakistani army. There have been no training camps for many years.
India has also arrested thousands of innocent people in Occupied Kashmir under arbitrary detention, and they can be held for two years. They have demolished innocent people’s homes.
India’s hypocrisy is something else — its intelligence agencies have for decades supported Baluchi, TTP and Pashtun separatist groups carrying out attacks inside Pakistan. Mosques, Chinese workers and innocent civilians are often targeted, as well as the military.
Yet it is taking the moral high ground over a mysterious attack in occupied Kashmir.
India seems emboldened with trade deals with the U.S. and UK and the support it gains from the West.

Like Israel, it acts as judge, jury, and executioner, targeting innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure.
India, it seems, has started an Israeli approach to Pakistan, and we can expect more bombing of innocent targets simply with the charge of terrorism outside international law, as Israel does in Lebanon, Syria and Iran.
Meanwhile, the water treaty, which India has put on hold, collectively punishes Pakistanis, depriving Pakistanis of their right to the region’s water — an act of war against the Pakistani people. This is something India has wanted to tear up for some time.
India’s ruling BJP and its allied Hindutva movement targets and kills innocent civilian Muslims inside India, in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.
It has become a fascist, vigilante state, just like Israel, which sees itself above international norms and laws.
Pakistan has to respond and be prepared to deal with a new normal with India.
