The blurred picture which was posted on Facebook by Bieber shows both Malala and him smiling.

BIEBERMALALAThe post read: “Just got to FaceTime with Malala Yousafzai. She has such an incredible story. I can’t wait to meet her in person and talk about how I can support her and the @malalafund. #love.”

Regularly hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons, including his many run-ins with the law, Bieber also generously donates to as many as 16 charities and 20 causes worldwide.

Malala came to the world’s attention in 2012 when she was attacked by the Taliban for openly promoting western values and education system in a blog in 2009.

Since then Malala has become an international celebrity, with a lot of educational activists pinning their hopes and aspirations on her.

On 16th July, 2013, Malala delivered a speech at the UN, addressing the cause of education and called for worldwide accessibility to education.

The UN marked the day as “Malala Day” highlighting her first public address.

Many critics have accused Malala for being a naive Western pawn, allowing the UN and namely the US, to counter the rise of “radical Islam” by using her near death incident to promote secular liberal women’s and education rights.

The US continues to carry out predator drone attacks in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan under the facade of targeting “militants”, killing mainly innocent civilians.
