It’s been revealed that a British GP who called for Palestinian babies to be sniped and for Gaza and the West Bank to be “razed to the ground,” is still practising medicine under an active medical licence.
In January 2026, violent comments left by Eastland Staveley went viral across social media after they were revealed to have been left by a licensed NHS doctor and general practitioner registered with the General Medical Council.
Responding to one comment asking whether he was an IDF soldier and how many babies he had sniped, Staveley allegedly replied: “Not enough but I’m sure they can add 2 more.”
In another comment, he said: “Because once all the hostages are back home, Israel can raze Gaza to the ground and the West Bank. We get our people back and then we unleash the fires of hell.”
At the time of the comments, Staveley was working as a GP at a private practice called Dr Finlay’s, which is based in London and Birmingham and also operates online.
The private practice swiftly released a statement after it had been made aware of Dr Staveley’s views: “At Dr Finlay’s Private Practice, we prioritise the safety, integrity and wellbeing of everyone and regard the use of abusive and threatening language as totally unacceptable.”
“We have therefore acted swiftly and decisively to permanently remove Dr Eastland Staveley from our roster of associate doctors following complaints about comments Dr Staveley has made on social media platforms.”

“As doctors and medical professionals, we strive always to be kind, respectful and caring, and therefore we will never tolerate or condone discriminatory and threatening language.”

Despite the decisive action to cut all ties with Dr Staveley, it appears that no further action was taken, and the GMC has not confirmed any formal action or suspension at the time of reporting.
Calls for suspension
Various advocacy groups have called for an immediate investigation into the alleged comments and his fitness to practise, including a petition led by UK-based campaigning group Friends of Al-Aqsa.
The petition reads: “Dr Eastland Staveley, a GP employed by DHU Healthcare, is reported to have responded to the question posed in reference to Palestinian children in Gaza, ‘how many babies have you sniped?’ with the reply ‘not enough.’”
“This is not a political opinion. It is a public expression of endorsement for the killing of infants on ethnic grounds, and it is fundamentally incompatible with the practice of medicine. In fact, a private practice Dr Staveley was working at suspended him January 2026.
“We call for his immediate suspension from clinical practice and if allegations are substantiated, striking off from the GMC medical register.”

Violation of conduct
According to medical professionals who have commented on the case, doctors operate under a code of conduct that extends beyond the clinic and is upheld by the GMC’s own standards.
These standards require registered physicians to behave with integrity in all public-facing conduct, and comments such as those allegedly left by Staveley on a public social media platform like Facebook would raise serious questions about patient trust, particularly for patients from Muslim or Arab backgrounds.
Dr Staveley remains on the medical register with an active GMC number and a valid licence to practise, despite the public outcry.
Reports have been made suggesting Dr Staveley is still working as a GP at DHU Healthcare, a “not-for-profit community interest company” which provides NHS services, out-of-hours and integrated urgent care across the East Midlands and Milton Keynes.
5Pillars reached out for a statement or confirmation of Dr Staveley’s employment at DHU Healthcare but received no response at the time of reporting.
