A group of female Muslim students at Desh Bhagat University in the Punjab say they were assaulted and badly beaten by campus police on Thursday.
The nursing students were protesting after they said the university arbitrarily transferred dozens of them to a college which lacks accreditation from the Indian Nursing Council.
