VIDEO: West Midlands Police on the release of Moazzam Begg

    West Midlands Police statement regarding the release of Moazzam Begg who was arrested in February on Syria-related terrorism charges.

    Assistant Chief Constable Marcus Beale of West Midlands Police explains that there was insufficient evidence to charge and take Mr Begg to court.

    He acknowledged that community relations had been affected as a result of Mr Begg’s arrest.

    ACC Beale added that WMP will explain to Birmingham’s Muslim community their reason for arresting and subsequently releasing Mr Begg.
