A child completely buried under rubble in Syria was pulled out alive by rescuers who dug with their bare hands.
The video which was posted on YouTube by Syrian activists, shows a recovery team digging to rescue the trapped toddler in Aleppo, after government bombings.
When the team heard cries while searching for survivors, the group of men desperately began digging with their hands.
Initially, the child could not be seen until an arm and a head appears, then an orange jumper covered in dirt.
When rescuers realised the child was alive, the frantic digging speeded up and one man uses a pickaxe to carefully remove brickwork.
The infant appears dazed but breathing, blinking whilst shielding its eyes from the sunlight.
The crowd of men shout “Allahu akbar” when the child is finally freed.

The footage was dated on Wednesday – the day after Assad’s air force bombed the rebel-held district.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 10 people including two children were killed in the bombardment aimed at a bus garage.
Aleppo has been at the centre of some of the fiercest fighting between government and rebel forces.
