Man charged with sending hate mail and death threat to 5Pillars

A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with sending malicious communications online to 5Pillars and an MP between January and May this year.

Nick Daly, 30, of Oxted, was arrested on Thursday and subsequently charged with nine counts of sending a letter/communication/article conveying an indecent/offensive message and one count of sending communication threatening death or serious harm.

Following a search of an address linked to Daly, he was further charged with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession of cannabis.

Daly has been remanded to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court today.

As court proceedings are ongoing, 5Pillars will not be commenting further on this matter at this point.
