A Muslim family living in Essex have expressed their horror and fear after finding a pig’s head thrown at their home and its blood smeared on their doorstep in yet another example of Islamophobic hate amid a nationwide outbreak of far-right incitement.
The Rizvi family were stunned to discover the animal’s decapitated head outside their home in the early hours of September 14.
Speaking to 5Pillars, Miss Rizvi explained the trauma the incident has caused her and her family who consider this to be a blatant act of Islamophobic hate.
“This was a horrific hate crime deliberately targeting us as the only Muslim family on our street. Discovering a pig’s head and blood smeared on our doorstep was deeply traumatising for my family. Far-right bigots are trying to intimidate us, and we urgently need decisive action from the authorities. Minority communities like ours have long contributed to this country, and it is the government’s duty to ensure we are protected and able to live in safety and dignity.”
According to Rizvi, the family of three returned to their home in Loughton the previous night at around 10pm.

The following morning, between 9:00–9:15am, they heard children in the neighbourhood sounding alarmed outside their door.
When they went outside to investigate the cause of the commotion they discovered the pig’s head laying outside their property.

Miss Rizvi told 5Pillars: “We immediately notified the police, who arrived within 30 minutes. They removed the pig’s head, secured it in a bag, and then took our statement.
“The attending officer confirmed that this is being treated as a hate crime and noted that, while recent events in Epping have created tension in the area, nothing of this nature has previously occurred here.”
Rizvi told 5Pillars that not much progress has been made to identify the thug behind the hate crime but claimed that Essex Police informed her that they’re still doing forensics on the pig.
5Pillars reached out to Essex Police for an update on the investigation. They responded withe the following statement:

“Items have also been sent for forensic analysis and we’re awaiting those results. We have met with the victim and remain in consistent contact with them. We do not underestimate the impact this incident has had and we are determined to do all we can to identify and pursue those responsible.

Epping has seen major right-wing protests over hotels housing migrants in the area. The protests have been infiltrated by far-right activists and Islamophobes who use the protests to peddle their own extremist ideology which usually targets Islam and Muslims as the cause of Britain’s problems.
Conspiracies of an “Islamic takeover” of Britain or the “Pakistani culture’s mass rape of young white girls” across England and which are being “covered up by the authorities” are widespread in far-right circles.
Islamophobia epidemic infests Britain
The Essex Muslim family are the latest in a string of victims of Islamophobic hate crimes currently sweeping across the UK.
Muslims, including women, children or innocent men out with their families are filming themselves being subjected to vile hate-filled rants as radicalised far-right supporters or activists harass, intimidate and sometimes violently attack Muslims in the streets.
Countless Islamophobic hate crimes have been reported on by 5Pillars throughout 2025, each more shocking than the last.
There are so many viral examples from 2025 alone that this article will only mention a few examples from September.
On 23 September, an English woman was filmed being arrested by police after she attacked a dawah stall in London because they were reciting Quran on loudspeakers.
On 19 September, a knife wielding woman, Nina Manley, was sentenced after she threatened to kill migrants in a hotel after watching far-right videos including that of notorious British Islamophobe Tommy Robinson.
Earlier, on 1 September, a visibly intoxicated white male threatened Muslims outside a mosque in Portsmouth with a knife while screaming: “What do we have to do to protect our f***ing children?!”

On the 13 September, London witnessed England’s largest ever far-right rally which saw over 150,000 nationalist Brits march on Whitehall with some chanting Islamophobic and anti-migrant chants including “who the f*** is Allah.”
Speakers on stage at the Tommy Robinson led event were filmed issuing calls for a “holy war” against “rapist Muslim invaders.”
The rally was also marred by violent clashes as far-right thugs attacks police lines attempting to confront rival anti-racism counter demonstrators in Trafalgar Square.
Racist and Islamophobic graffiti is also popping up all over England while mosques have also seen an alarming increase in far-right vandal attacks.
Mosques across Scotland have stepped up security following a foiled terror plot in August and a series of Islamophobic attacks targeting Islamic centres across the country.
Omar Afzal, from the Scottish Association of Mosques, said there was “a great deal of fear and alarm within the community.” He added: “It’s feeling really under threat and really vulnerable. Mosques across the country are really looking at their security measures and increasing them.”
Many Muslims in Britain fear that a devastating Christchurch-style terror attack may be right around the corner as the outpouring of far-right radicalisation and hate continues to spread.
