Palestinians in Gaza forced to use animal feed to make bread

“We eat animal food now, food meant for sheep.”

A displaced Palestinian woman from Beit Hanoun in north Gaza, Awaatif Mohamed Al-Basouni, explains her struggle with a critical lack of food and difficulties obtaining flour for bread-making.

To cope, she is now resorting to grinding grains originally meant for livestock and poultry feed.
