Since the COVID-19 crisis erupted, Sri Lanka has been the only country in the world to insist on victims being cremated. And last week Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court rejected petitions by Muslims who claimed this rule impinges on the fundamental rights of the island’s Muslim minority.
