Teenager charged with murdering father in “snooker table row” in London

A teenager has been charged with murdering a 40-year-old father who died after being attacked in a north London cafe.

Dad-of-four Mohammed Hersi, from Wood Green, was seriously hurt in the attack at Bethel Cafe in Finsbury Park, north London, on Tuesday 28 November and died the following day in hospital.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a penetrating head injury.

Mohammed fell victim to the attack when he complained about players jumping the queue for the snooker table.

A 17-year-old boy from Haringey, north London, has been charged with murder and appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 2 December, police said.

Mohammed’s children, aged between 5-11 and his wife were at his bedside as he passed.
