Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has refused a luxury villa as a gift for sending Egypt to World Cup 2018.
Salah was contacted by the former president of Egyptian football club Zamalek, Mamdouh Abbas, who offered him a luxury villa for helping his country qualify for the World Cup in almost 30 years.
However, the 25-year-old politely declined and said a donation to the village of Nagrig in the Gharbiya province would make him happier.
Despite this rejection Salah has had plenty of other interesting offers.
Northern Egyptian governor of Gharbiya renamed Salah’s former school to “Mohamed Salah Industrial High School”.
The youth centre in his village of Nagrig is also being renamed in his honour.
His goal scoring exploits have also made Salah an instant hit in Merseyside, already becoming the Reds’ top scorer with eight goals.

The £36.9million striker also won the club’s “Player of the Month” and “Goal of the Month” awards for both August and September.
Salah arrived from Roma with a big price tag, but sits atop of Liverpool’s goal scoring charts with his latest brace coming against Maribor in a record 7-0 victory last Tuesday.
