Two gunmen opened fire on a crowd of worshippers outside a mosque in France leaving eight people injured.
Police in the southeastern city of Avignon are searching for the perpetrators who fled from the scene.
Two “hooded” men arrived outside Ar-Rahma Mosque at around 10.30pm in a Renault Clio, La Provence newspaper reports.
One was armed with a rifle and the other with a handgun.
People were leaving the mosque when one of the suspects, who got out of the vehicle and opened fire.
At least four people have been injured as the crowd ran for safety in panic.
A family-of-four were in a nearby apartment which was hit by shrapnel.

Police and firefighters remain at the scene.
French police said that they do not suspect the incident was a terrorist attack.
