A controversial Muslim MP from Birmingham is being taken to court by his parliamentary assistant who is also his ex-girlfriend.
An employment tribunal will review a complaint filed against Birmingham Perry Barr MP Khalid Mahmood (Labour) from his Parliamentary assistant, Elaina Cohen.
Court documents state that the case is due to be heard on Thursday 11 May 2017.
However, the Birmingham Mail reports that the hearing is to be postponed until October.
Ms Cohen was suspended from her position last February, but the suspension was lifted in June 2016.
She returned to her duties last October.
Ms Cohen is Mr Mahmood’s ex-girlfriend, and the MP was criticised after it was revealed that the couple had spent nine nights at the prestigious “The Bentley” hotel in Kensington, London, funded by the taxpayer in 2004.

The bills were approved by the House of Commons authorities on the grounds that it would have cost the same whether she was there or not.
But Mr Mahmood repaid the £175-a-night cost, saying he understood why constituents were unhappy.
