Pro Palestinian Church of England vicar targeted over Israel Facebook post

Stephen Sizer

A pro Palestinian vicar is being investigated after posting a link to an article on Facebook which blamed Israel for the 9/11 attacks.

The Rev Stephen Sizer, of Christ Church, in Virginia Water, Surrey, posted a link to an article entitled: “9/11 Israel did it.” He wrote above the article: “Is this anti-semitic? If so no doubt I will be asked to remove it. It raises so many questions.”

The Church of England’s Guildford Diocese is investigating.

A spokesman for the diocese said it was a matter of “deep sorrow and shame” that the post appeared in the same week as the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

He said: “These comments would rightly be seen as unacceptable whenever they were posted. It is a matter of deep sorrow and shame that they have been posted in this week of all weeks. The Diocese of Guildford, where the Rev Sizer is licensed, is taking immediate steps to investigate. The diocese is aware of the seriousness of the matter and are also in touch with the Board of Deputies of British Jews.”

And Jonathan Arkush, vice-president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, told the Jewish News: “Posting, and giving approval to, an article which in effect accuses Jews of responsibility for the 9/11 atrocity is unquestionably anti-semitic, just as it is beyond absurd.”

Later, Sizer, who is a good friend of the British Muslim community and has been targeted by pro Zionist organisations for his outspoken defence of Palestinian rights, apologised on his blog.

He said: “I very much regret and apologise for the distress caused by the reposting on Facebook of a link to an article about 9/11 from Wikispooks. It was particularly insensitive in that last week coincided with Holocaust Memorial Day. I removed the link as soon as I received adverse feedback, and realised that offence had been caused.

“I have never believed Israel or any other country was complicit in the terrorist atrocity of 9/11, and my sharing of this material was ill-considered and misguided. At the request of the Diocese, I will be suspending my use of all social media and blogs with immediate effect and until further notice.”

The WikiSpooks article starts off like this:

“When an event occurs that that fundamentally changes the dynamics of global geopolitics, there is one question above all others whose answer will most assuredly point to its perpetrators. That question is ‘Cui bono?’ If those so indicted are in addition found to have had both motive and means then, as they say in the US, it’s pretty much a ‘slam-dunk’.

“And so it is with the events of 9/11.

“Discounting the ‘Official narrative’ as the absurdity it so clearly is, there are just two organisations on the entire planet with the expertise, assets, access and political protection necessary to have both executed 9/11 and effected its cover-up to date (ie the means). Both are Intelligence Agencies – the CIA and Israel’s Mossad whose motives were arguably the most compelling.

“Those motives dovetailed perfectly with the Neocon PNAC agenda, with it’s explicitly stated need for ‘…a catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor’ in order to mobilise US public opinion for already planned wars, the effects of which would be to destroy Israel’s enemies.”
