Fears grow over missing teenage girl last seen on New Year’s day

Fears are growing over a missing teenager from Oldham who was last seen on New Year’s Day.

Kanis Chowdury, 15, went missing from her home at around 2pm on New Year’s Eve.

The last reported sighting of her was on the evening of the following day in the Eastlands area of Manchester.

Kanis is described as Asian with shoulder length brown hair.

She was last seen wearing black jeans, a pale coloured cropped jumper, brown UGG boots, a cream coloured jacket and was carrying a cream or white handbag.

Sgt Craig Morgan from Oldham division, said: “Kanis has been missing for nearly four days and the police along with her family are concerned for her welfare.

“If you have seen Kanis or know where she is, please contact us as soon as possible so we can tell her family she is safe and well.”

Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Kanis is asked to call police on 101.
