Over the past week, there has been a heated war embroiling on social media between a controversial American YouTuber and London-based “Dawah men”.
The incident began when US-based Adam Saleh and Sheikh Akbar visited the UK in August, bringing Marble Arch to a standstill with stampeding teenage Muslim girls.
Imran ibn Mansur (Dawah Man) and Ali Dawah, also prominent YouTubers, tried to contact Adam Saleh and Sheikh Akbar to give them some advice with no avail.
Adam Saleh and his team are currently touring the UK. Saleh was due to speak at an event at Harrow Mosque on New Year’s Day, but was dropped after a petition against him went viral and gained popular support.
Thousands of British Muslims have voiced their concern over the unIslamic activities of Adam Saleh and Sheikh Akbar’s behaviour like hugging and kissing their fans – most of whom are young Muslim girls.
Yesterday, Adam Saleh visited Bradford where he sang the following to a crowd of screaming Muslim teenagers – “The thought of you on my lips makes me wanna move my hips.” You can watch it here.
In this video, Imran ibn Mansur explains the story behind the social media “beef”, including screenshots of text message exchanges and a threatening phone call made by Adam Saleh’s manager “Naz” to Ali Dawah.

When Imran uploaded this video yesterday night, Adam Saleh reported it to YouTube within an hour for “copyright infringement”. Since then, the video has been uploaded by numerous dawah channels and consequently taken down shortly after.
Speaking to deputy editor of 5Pillars, Dilly Hussain, Ali Dawah said: “We have tried on many occasions to speak to brother Adam and his crew but we were rejected over and over again.
“His manager Naz wanted to arrange a meeting with us and Adam. We agreed to meet and even planned to buy Adam a gift. However, they cancelled on us. We said ok no problem. But I asked Adam’s manager Naz one thing – I said: please tell Adam not to touch our sisters that’s all.
“Forget touching, Adam came back kissing and hugging Muslim girls. We have no personal grudge against him. He is our Muslim brother and we want to stop him from committing sin.“
5Pillars invited both Adam Saleh and Sheikh Akbar to comment and wait for their response.
