This video shows the moment racist abuse was hurled at a tram passenger who confronted swearing teenagers.
Video footage shows one of the three youths shouting at the man to “Get back to Africa” as the tram travelled though central Manchester at 7.40am on Tuesday morning.
Moments earlier the man, who spoke with a foreign accent, had asked reportedly asked the youngsters to stop swearing in front of women and young children on the tram.
But the youngsters can be heard shouting “F*****g get off the tram now” and “Don’t chat s**t or get deported”.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
Chief Inspector Gareth Parkin said: “We are aware of a video of a hate incident that has surfaced online this morning. This is a disgusting display of abuse which quite frankly has no place in society. All hate incidents are treated with the upmost severity and this behaviour will not be tolerated in Greater Manchester.
“I’m strongly urging anyone who recognises the men in the video to come forward and help us with our investigation. The incident happened at around 7.40am this morning, Tuesday 28 June, on a tram travelling towards the city centre.
