The French Muslim woman who was verbally abused by a waiter and refused service at a restaurant in Paris speaks for the first time to the Collective Against Islamophobia in France.
The incident took place at the Michelin starred Le Cernacle restaurant and was filmed on the phone of one of the women.
It has since gone viral and sheds more light on the difficulties Muslims face in everyday French life.
In this video, Sarah speaks of being hurt not only by the racist comments but also the lack of concern from fellow diners.
She says such xenophobic behaviour is encouraged by French media and politicians.
Though French Muslims find the struggle against such behaviour tiring, she affirms a spirit of resilience by concluding, “it will not break us”.
