UK Palestinian ambassador: Jeremy Corbyn has shunned talking about Palestine

The Palestinian ambassador to the UK has said that Jeremy Corbyn has shunned the issue of Palestine since becoming leader of the Labour Party.

Manual Hassassian made the comment during a head-to-head debate on LBC radio station last week with the Israeli ambassador the UK Mark Regev about the Palestine-Israel conflict.

He also revealed that he hasn’t met Corbyn since he was first elected leader last year. Scroll forward to 10.20 on the video to hear the comments.

On the other hand, Regev said that he had met Corbyn although he refused to go into details about the meeting.

Corbyn is a lifelong supporter of the Palestinian cause but has come under huge pressure from inside the Labour Party and from the wider political and media establishment about his pro-Palestine views.
