PSV Eindhoven fans humiliate beggars in the centre of Madrid

A video has emerged of PSV Eindhoven fans humiliating beggars in the centre of Madrid by throwing money on the floor while the fans sang and laughed.

The beggars are dressed in hijabs and robes but it is unclear if they are Muslim or Roma women.

The incident took place in the build-up to Tuesday’s Champions League match against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital.

The fans of the Dutch team were sitting in Plaza Mayor in the Spanish capital when some women approached and asked for handouts. The supporters then decided to throw money on to the floor. As the women scrambled to collect the money, the PSV fans sang demeaning songs and laughed.

Realising the humiliation which was taking place, several citizens gave money to the beggars in order to end the grotesque spectacle. Finally, several police officers arrived on the scene at Plaza Mayor to ensure the situation did not escalate further.
