Police open fire at Hizb ut-Tahrir protest in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi police have been filmed shooting live rounds at protestors calling for Khilafah.

Members and activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) held a peaceful demonstration in the Muktangon area of Dhaka on Friday after Jummah prayers.

They held banners and chanted slogans saying “Enough of Hasina and Khaleda. Enough of Awami and BNP.”

The demonstrators raised the black and white flags of Shahadah and called upon the “sincere officers” in the military to remove the ruling Awami-BNP regime and transfer the authority to HT to establish the Khilafah.

Police officers shot live rounds at protestors. Many were left injured from bullet wounds and scores were arrested.

    Bangladesh banned HT in 2009.
