Prominent Pakistani recording artist Junaid Jamshed has apologised over remarks he made about the Prophet’s wife, Hazrat Aisha (ra).
Jamshed referred to Aisha (ra) as an “attention seeker” in a video that emerged on YouTube. He was speaking in front of a group of men about women in general and used the Prophet’s wife (ra) as an example of female quirks.
The Urdu video can be seen here.
But after he was accused by many of “blasphemy” he released a video begging for forgiveness. In the Urdu video he admitted that he said things against Aisha’s “majesty” but that it was a mistake due to his own ignorance.
He went onto say that he is not a mufti and makes speeches several times a day and only made this one mistake.
Jamshed, who was visibly emotional, said that he regrets his mistake and begs Allah (swt) and Muslims for forgiveness. He also said he is grateful to those who made him realise his mistake.
Jamshed is a Pakistani recording artist, TV personality, fashion designer, former actor and former singer-songwriter.
