EDL’s Tommy Robinson refused service at Selfridges

Far-right activists have been trying to whip up anti-Muslim hatred, according to the report

Department store Selfridges is investigating after a staff member apparently refused to serve the leader of the English Defence League and his friend.

Tommy Robinson – who filmed the encounter on his phone – claims his friend was told to “f*** off” when he tried to buy  clothing.

In a tweet Robinson said: “Muslim staff in selfridges just refused to serve my pal cos he was with me? He told him to f*** off?”

When asked to clarify his position, the store clerk said: “You can put me in the camera all you want, I’m not serving you.”

The manager was called and Robinson and his friend tweeted pictures of what they claim is a complimentary meal by way of an apology.

Selfridges have refused to comment while an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Muslims have been wriiting into Selfridges to express support for the worker amid concerns that he could be sacked. If you would like to do the same you can reach them on the following email:  customerservices@selfridges.com
