Britain First’s failed “invasion” of East London Mosque

Far-right group Britain First made their second visit to East London Mosque which resulted in a failed “invasion”.

The group visited ELM yesterday with four “activists”. They left after a local Community Support Officer noticed their car on zig-zag traffic lines, and run a red light as they made their getaway.

Britain First’s first visit to ELM was in response to the Muslim “Shariah Patrols” in the Brick Lane area of Whitechapel. The “Christian Patrol” involved men dressed in army gear, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes at the entrance of the mosque.

ELM stated on their website: “Of course, members of the public are welcome to attend the mosque and, with a booking, take a tour of the facilities (perhaps Britain First had trouble writing down the number).”

This short CCTV clip shows Britain First activists entering ELM and their vehicle parked on zig-zag traffic lines before speeding off.
