American Muslims: We’re here to stay, we’re not going anywhere

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have convened a press conference following Donald Trump’s victory in the US Presidential Election.

They said Muslims are in America to stay and are not going anywhere. And they pledged to challenge bigotry, build bridges of mutual cooperation and hold the new president to account to uphold the rights of all communities. They also pledged to reach out to disenfrachised white communities.

CAIR said Islamophobia became mainstream during the US election campaign with Trump, especially, pledging to ban Muslims from entering the US and to crack down on radical Islam.
