A coalition of Syrian-American and Muslim American groups have called on Russia to halt its campaign of bombing and air strikes, saying the mounting military attacks would strengthen both the country’s dictatorial government and ISIS extremists.
The groups called on the Obama administration to create no-fly zones or other safe zones in several parts of Syria, saying that civilians are in extreme danger as the war widens and escalates.
