Upon their return from a tour of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, British Muslim speakers celebrated the Emirate’s many achievements, and condemned rampant western lies at major London conference.

Hosted by Muslim NGO Prosper Afghanistan, the event titled: “Afghanistan Rising: Truth vs Propaganda” provided a platform for Shaykh Abu Anas, Shaykh Abu Ubayd, Shaykh Abu Khalid Imran and Shaykh Omar Hajaj to share their experiences visiting the heavily misunderstood Islamic Emirate.

One Shaykh said that being in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) felt like being in a “land of the Sahaba.” Another explained how kind and generous ordinary Afghans and their leadership are when hosting guests.

“They will do whatever they can to keep you happy… and you feel this real sense of brotherhood when you sit with these people. They are incredibly humble and are always inviting us to give them advice on how to make their country better,” Shaykh Abu Ubayd said.

All the speakers praised the ruling authorities for their efforts to establish complete Islamic rule over the Muslim-majority country after successfully liberating the country from foreign occupation.

They all equally urged other Muslims to go and visit or invest in the country.

After visiting the IEA, Shaykh Imran became convinced that Allah SWT had rewarded them for their love of Islam.

“In Afghanistan, Allah SWT chose a certain people to overcome those who had come to attack them in their land. Allah purified them. Allah allowed them to overcome such brutality and establish the rule of Allah in that land. So we should support them. They are a humble and beautiful people who want Islam.”

British-Palestinian speaker Omar Hajaj addressed any concerns some British Muslims may have about visiting the IEA head on.

“It is perfectly legal to visit. It is a Muslim country. Whenever we think about going on holiday, think about Afghanistan. It should be a preference to support Afghanistan and its development over countries like Spain or others. Muslims are very welcome there, especially Muslims from the West.”

Omar Hajaj reminded the audience of the well-known Islamic principle of supporting the Ummah.

“We must have this Ummah centric mindset. We are one Ummah and we are one body and each cause of the Ummah is our cause. We must be united here in the UK, as a community, and through that strength support Muslims all over the world.”

The speakers traveled together at the end of 2024 with the support of Prosper Afghanistan and visited a wide range of sites and locations including the capital Kabul.

They got the chance to experience what Afghanistan is really like behind the headlines and discover how the country is overcoming the many challenges it faces since establishing itself as an Islamic Emirate.

The NGO Prosper Afghanistan aims to assist Afghanistan to rebuild following decades of western war, occupation and sanctions on the country.

They have also spearheaded efforts to take delegations of activists, experts and journalists to the IEA in order to promote truth and dialogue between the IEA and the wider world.

Shaykh Imran explained why Western mainstream media is so eager to portray the Emirate as backwards or dangerous.

“There are many misconceptions that people put and place on Afghanistan, the propaganda that they have, in order to deter people like you and me from going there. In order to deter people like me and you from ever helping them.”

He added that Western narratives about Afghanistan being dangerous or unsafe is “full of lies” because what he witnessed was a people that are “extremely gentle” and “Allah has kept them humble.”

Afghanistan remains one of the most sanctioned countries in the world, with few UN member states willing to recognising the Islamic Emirate.

The sanctions have made life harder for the ordinary Afghan, however, 5Pillars reporting from inside Afghanistan has revealed major initiatives are underway to rebuild the war torn country.

The IEA authorities have urged the international community to end sanctions against the country, with Russia the latest to show interest in establishing relations with the Emirate.
