He died in hospital after he was struck by the vehicle on Meadow Lane in Loughborough on Tuesday 13 November.
Mohammed was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries where he later died.
He was struck at about 7:10pm GMT by a blue Ford Fiesta near The Boat Inn pub.
Mohammed was a year 8 pupil at Limehurst Academy and he was walking home from the mosque after isha prayers when he was hit.
The driver of the car was not injured and the road was closed for several hours after the incident.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Seamus Burns is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch.
He said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the events leading up to it to please contact me.
“Alternatively motorists who may have dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, I would urge them to give me a call.”
