Controversial anti-Muslim columnist, Katie Hopkins, has been reported to police after she called for a “final solution” on Twitter in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena suicide attack.
The LBC radio presenter immediately deleted the tweet, which resembled the popular Nazi term for the Holocaust, amid widespread condemnation for the shocking tweet.
The tweet was deleted and replaced with a re-worded post stating “we need a true solution”, but people are now calling for Hopkins to be fired by the LBC and Mail Online.
Hopkins has been reported to the Metropolitan Police due to the tweet, which was part of an extended Islamophobic rant, but the police said it was too early to confirm whether an investigation would be launched.
Her tweet came after a suicide attack that took place at Manchester Arena on Monday night where at least 22 people were killed and 59 injured.
Thousands of attendees, mostly children and teenagers, were leaving an Ariana Grande concert and heading towards Victoria Station when the deadly explosion hit the foyer.
It is the worst terrorist attack in Britain since the London bombing on 7 July 2005 where 56 people were killed.
