A faction of the Turkish army attempted to overthrow the government last night. At least 90 people were killed in Ankara. Countrywide, those numbers may rise.
The coup attempters also dropped bombs on the parliament in Ankara and took over the state broadcaster, TRT, in Istanbul. Istanbul’s bridges and Ataturk Airport were shut but civilians helped take back control.
