A family have been left terrified after their home and cars were attacked – leaving seven windows smashed.
Mohammed Shabir is very upset and fears for the safety of his family and property following the incident on Monday night.
Mr Shabir was at work when his 11-year-old son, Sabil, phoned him, crying and saying: “Come home quickly. Somebody’s smashed the windows of our house, car and taxi.”
When the 46-year-old arrived at his home in Crewe Street, Derby, he found smashed three windows of his taxi, the windscreen of his Lexus IS 250 Sport and three windows at the front of his house.
Sabil told the Derby Telegraph he had been doing his homework on a sofa in the kitchen when he heard something that sounded like a bomb exploding.
He said: “I looked up and realised it was glass cracking and could see glass everywhere – it went on the sofa and some went on my top. I was scared and thought ‘what’s going on?’ My step mum, who was washing the dishes at the time, told me to call the police because she cannot speak English.”
Police are now looking at CCTV from Mr Shabir’s home.
