The influential International Union of Muslim Scholars has issued a fatwa ordering every able Muslim to immediately launch armed jihad against Israel.
The body of scholars also called for immediate military intervention by Arab and Islamic states to support the Palestinian resistance and people, as well as a complete blockade of Israel at every level.
The International Union of Muslim Scholars was founded by Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradhawi and is headquartered in Qatar, but is comprised of leading scholars from around the globe.
More than 50,600 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israel’s military onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Prime Minister Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
