The BBC Apprentice star Dr Asif Munaf has been suspended from the medical register by the General Medical Council following his criticism of Israel’s genocidal actions and Zionism on social media.
The suspension happened after pro-Israel organisations complained about his rhetoric and the 34 year old from Sheffield is now under investigation.
A GMC spokesperson said: “Dr Munaf has been interim suspended pending the conclusion of a full GMC investigation… We are acutely aware of the concerns that have been raised regarding Dr Munaf, and we will take action where concerns suggest patient safety or the public’s confidence in doctors may be at risk.”
Following the news Dr Munaf defiantly targeted the GMC, tweeting:
“Alhamdulillah ala qule haal. They think they can shake me. We are the ummah of the greatest man, ﷺ Shame on you cowards. @gmcuk”
“What tremendous shame it is to see the regulatory body of an honourable profession be (ab)used as a pawn by the Zionist lobby in this a proxy tit for tat over their genocide. What a waste of time. What a waste of doctors registration fees. Absolute shame on you @gmcuk”
“Do not stop speaking about the genocide.”

The pro Israel Campaign Against Antisemitism wrote to the GMC earlier this month calling for Dr Munaf to be struck off the medical register. They said his remarks are “vile and have no place in the medical profession.”
“Given the gravity of these allegations, it is right that the GMC has suspended him pending an investigation, following our complaint. The GMC must send a message of zero tolerance of antisemitism. We will be monitoring this case closely,” they said.
Yet Dr Munaf has remained steadfast in his Islamic ethics and his anti-Zionist politics despite facing a mainstream media onslaught over his anti-Israel social media content.
Dr Munaf, who was edited out of The Apprentice spin-off show last week, has been a consistent critic of Zionism and Israel for many years but his social media content has been amplified since the October 7 attacks and the subsequent Israeli genocide.
5Pillars has seen no evidence of any antisemitism in Dr Munaf’s social media content and he calls the allegations “slanderous.”
Yet despite the complaints against him and several media articles targeting him, Dr Munaf has doubled-down on his Islamic ethics and anti-Zionist politics.
