Police in Nottingham have arrested a man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving after he drove into people during a Free Palestine protest on Saturday.
A man suffered leg injuries as a result of the incident which remains under investigation. A video of the incident has been circulating on social media.
Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a 51-year-old remains in police custody after being arrested on Sunday (May 16).
Assistant Chief Constable Gerard Milano, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We’ve arrested a man as part of a live investigation into an incident that happened in Fisher Gate at around 3pm yesterday (Saturday, May 15).
“As a result of our ongoing enquiries, we are questioning a 51-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.”
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson added: “A man suffered leg injuries as a result of the incident which remains under investigation. Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information which could help officers with their enquiries is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 586 of May 14.”
