15 years ago the U.S. declared war on Iraq and this was President Bush’s message

On this day 15 years ago, the United States went to war with Iraq under the false pretext of Saddam Hussein possessing weapons of mass destruction. This is the message President George Bush.Jr sent to the world.

Since the US-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003, more than a million Iraqis have been killed, millions more have been displaced, and the country remains in a state of sectarian violence and political strife.

It was as a direct result of the de-stabilisation of Iraq that the group known as ISIS was born, and in the words of former President Barack Obama, ISIS was the “unintended consequence” of the US-led invasion.
