JD Sports could be regretting their decision in publicising a competition after pranksters hijacked an online campaign.
Self-professed “hair enthusiast” Raza Ali aka “Rake Ali” is set to be the new face of the sportswear chain after users voted in their thousands to send him to the top of the list.
Rake currently leads the voting by nearly 2,000 votes and is very likely, when crowned winner, will see his face plastered on shops and billboards all over the UK.
His “thought-provoking” hairstyle seems to have been the main focal point of attraction and attention, while his biography also makes a captivating reading.
Rake states in his bio: “I am an adamant hair enthusiast that gets all the chicks. My haircut is one of a kind and looks like a rake.”
The image of Rake has spread on the internet like wildfire.
One forum user wrote: “We need to see this guy plastered over billboards around the country.

“That’ll teach JD to make the competition public. Haha.”
Scottish-born Ryan Coutts initiated the online sabotage with his friends on a Facebook group.
He said that when Rake added a photo of his car to the group Splitter Scuffers, Ryan and his friends immediately noticed the peculiar haircut and entered him in the contest.
Ali is allegedly “cool” with the campaign, and Ryan is anxious people keep voting to keep him as number one.
