Controversial actress, model and former item girl, Veena Malik, formally announced her retirement from the film industry.
Veena, who got married to Dubai-based Pakistani businessman Asad Bashir Khan last year in December, recently finished performing Umrah with her husband and his family.
She said: “Well-wishers from all over the globe, whether east or west, India or Pakistan, have been congratulating and blessing us with their prayers.”
While films have seen the last of her, Veena says she will still be part of welfare projects.
She added: “As far as the entertainment industry is concerned, I will continue to engage in any project which aims for welfare or social development. But I will not be part of any new films from hereon.”
While talking to Express News, she clarified:
“Of course, I will keep coming to Pakistan. But this time, the credit goes to my husband Asad, who brought me back from India and says we will soon visit Pakistan.

“But currently, our families are spread across US, Dubai and Pakistan. So these are the three places you will mostly find us in.”
