Yasir Qadhi: How Muslims should deal with Islamophobia

American Muslim scholar Dr Yasir Qadhi gives pragmatic advice to Muslims about how they should deal with Islamophobia.

    He says:

    • Islamophobia is a test from Allah (SWT). Previous generations had it much worse than us.
    • Those who criticise us feel threatened and we should put ourselves in their shoes. The average American is not cosmopolitan and is therefore susceptible to media brainwashing.
    • Never give up on people, they can change.
    • Islamophobia is a well-financed politically-driven industry.
    • Muslims need to become more knowledgeable about their religion and present it well to others.
    • Muslims also need to become more knowledgeable about the nature of terrorism and the true threat that its poses.
    • You don’t have to defend anything happening in another country.
    • Keep focused on your rights in America, not on talking about the Muslim world.
