Vladimir Putin calls for an international coalition against terrorism

Russian president Vladimir Putin has called for an international coalition against terrorism during a major speech to the United Nations in New York.

Putin also took several indirect swipes at the United States and its allies during the 23 minute address.

    He said:

    • Certain powers (presumably the United States)  are undermining the United Nations which is leading to a “law of the jungle” situation.
    • State authority must be upheld because when it breaks down disasterous consequences ensue.
    • Certain powers are exporting revolutions and using ISIS as a tool against their enemies.
    • Certain powers are turning a blind eye to terrorist financing.
    • Certain powers are playing games with terrorists in the expectation that they will deal with them after they have served their purpose.
    • Russia is cooperating with the Syrian government to fight terrorism.
