#ShareRamadan: Non-Muslims across Britain take part in fasting

Founders Hushyiar Ali, Nanu Miah and Kabir Ahmed

Non-Muslims across Britain have been taking part in the Ramadan fast this year thanks to an initiative which has gone viral on social media called #ShareRamadan.

The concept is simple: 1. Invite a non-Muslim neighbour or colleague to fast for one day to experience what Muslims go through. 2. Break the fast with them at your home during iftaar. 3. Share the moment on social media.

The founders of #ShareRamadan say the initiative has helped to break down some of the barriers that exist between non-Muslims and Muslims in this society because of the intimate human contact it has encouraged.
