Pensioner charged with attempted murder over Tube platform shove

    A pensioner has been charged with attempted murder after a woman wearing a hijab was pushed into the path of a Tube train.

    Police were called to Piccadilly Circus station just before 4.10pm on Tuesday, November 10, after the incident unfolded on one of the station’s Bakerloo line platforms.

    The female victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment to grazes to her face.

    Yoshiyuki Shinohara, 81, of no fixed abode, was last night charged with attempted murder. He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, November 12.
