The editor-in-chief of Islam21c, Dr Salman Butt, will be challenging the UK Government’s entire counter extremism strategy for the first time in court.
Speaking to Channel 4’s Senior Home Affairs correspondent, Simon Israel, Dr Butt says he is taking legal action against the Home Secretary after he was named in a Government press release about hate preachers – suggesting they be barred from university campuses for fear of “radicalising” students.
The Phd graduate is also challenging the Home Office Prevent agenda, claiming it fundamentally breaches free speech and other human rights.
