Debate – Do we have the right to offend?

Mohammed Shafiq of Ramadhan Foundation presents Debate Night on Ummah Channel on the topic of “Do we have the right to offend?”

Panellists include Guy Otten and David Milne from the Greater Manchester Humanists, Muslim activist Mazhar Khan and Sheikh Asim Qureshi of Muslim Council of Coventry.

The topic of this debate is whether or not people have the right to offend or insult in a liberal secular society in light of Maajid Nawaz’s tweeting of a caricature of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and Isa (as).

Maajid Nawaz and the Quilliam Foundation were invited to the show, but no one from the organisation was able to attend.
