Jeremy Corbyn helps MEND launch Islamophobia Awareness Month

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn attended an event on Wednesday evening in Parliament organised by Muslim organisation MEND to launch Islamophobia Awareness Month.

Corbyn was joined by fellow Labour MPs Naz Shah, Stephen Kinnock, Wes Streeting, Afzal Khan and Kate Green, as well as Shakira Martin, president of the National Union of Students.

MEND aims to empower and encourage British Muslims to be more actively involved in British media and politics. It has been targeted by the right-wing media in recent years as “extremist,” which it rejects.
