Tributes paid to 21 year old man killed in London car crash

Tributes have been paid to a 21-year-old man killed in a crash which left five other people in hospital in London.

The Evening Standard reports that Saif Ali, 21, from Walthamstow, was at the wheel of his BMW when it collided with a Vauxhall Astra on the North Circular in Barking at 10.30pm on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year old Astra driver and four teenage passengers in his car were taken to hospital.

Family friend Usman Mirza described Mr Ali as a “family man who always had a smile on his face.”

He told the Standard: “It’s a massive shock to everyone. He had a good heart and had a lot of expectations to achieve something big in his life.

“He always thought a lot of his family and friends and always put them before anyone or anything. Saif had a lot of love from everyone that knew him. It’s extremely hard to take as he was so young and such a kind-hearted man.”

The driver of the Astra was arrested after being discharged from hospital and has been bailed until April while investigations continue.
