EDL plan demonstration outside Luton Islamic Centre on New Year’s Eve

The English Defence League (EDL) have organised a protest due to take place outside Luton Islamic Centre on New Year’s Eve.

The protest was announced on the far-right group’s Facebook and Twitter pages yesterday morning.

salafiThey will be protesting against a three day conference held at the centre entitled “Return of Khilafah and Jihad – The Correct Understanding,” which will feature a number of Muslim speakers.

Speakers include: Shaykh Saalih As-Suhaimee, Shaykh Sulaiman Ar-Ruhalee, Shaykh Abdul Malik Ar-Ramadani, Shaykh Falaah Ismaeel, Shaykh Fahad Al-Muqrin, Shaykh Abdul Haq Turkmani and Shaykh Falsel Al-Jasim – all of whom are of Salafi orientation.

This comes after a recent march by the group on November 22, where 500 members of the group took to the streets which resulted in six arrests.
